When You Stand Praying, Forgive
Forgiveness is not a mental force. It is like faith: feelings have nothing to do with it, one way or another. It is a spiritual force and is done as an act of obedience to JESUS, The LORD – HEAD OF THE CHURCH! It is not optional. It is a command!
Look at Mark 11:24-25
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
Listen to what JESUS said in verse 25: “ When you stand praying, forgive.” That means right now! You cannot stand for months or weeks. Make it part of every prayer.
You may say, Rev Boyd, “What if I do not have anything against anyone?”
Did you get angry or put out with the politicians or something that the newscaster presented on TV? Then, forgive. Stay with me for a moment. I want to go much higher with this understanding.
Go to Matthew 9:1-7
- And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city.
- And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.
- And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth.
- And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?
- For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?
- But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.
- And he arose, and departed to his house.
Look at verse 6. The power of forgiveness (Thy sins are forgiven thee) and the power to heal (Arise and walk) are the same force.
On the one hand, the power of forgiveness wipes out sin
On the other hand, the power to heal and removes sickness and disease.
Once that is made clear, it is very easy to see and understand the connection between them.
Sickness and Unforgiveness
Sickness and UnForgiveness are both under the curse and tied together with death. No wonder THE LORD is so strict about “Forgive and do it NOW”
Take another step up: JESUS, our example, said those powerful words:
Father, forgive them: for they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34)
Those were not just wonderful words. They were, and are POWER! They were a major part of the Resurrection!
Matthew 27:25: Listen to what the people said
Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.
It was, and still is, JESUS’ calling to forgive. That’s HIS job! First John 4:17 makes it very clear that it is our job too!
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the Day of Judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
Hebrews 3:1 says that we are partakes of His CALLING.
We have inherited his calling with HIM; the authority and power to forgive.
We are ministers of GRACE. Forgiveness is the first act of grace.
Practice Forgiving. Start forgiving everyone you see. While you are watching the news, forgive everyone – not just the bad guys – EVERYONE!
Look at 2 Corinthians 5:17-19
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of GOD, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that GOD was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
Look at the 19th verse in the Amplified Bible:
19 It was GOD [personally present] in Christ, reconciling and restoring the world to favor with Himself, not counting up and holding against [men] their trespasses [but cancelling them], and committing to us the message of reconciliation (of the restoration to favor).
“…Forgive them; for they know not what they do. If they knew, they would come running to JESUS. When the healing-forgiving force of GRACE is release through you and me, it begins to work in and on others. It will draw people to the source of that GRACE – THE LOVE OF GOD!
To practice forgiveness is to practice healing.
Father, in the Name of JESUS, I yield to the command of JESUS to forgive. I give myself to YOU as an instrument of YOUR love and forgiveness. I yield to compassion – the same compassion that moved YOU when YOU were on the earth to forgive, heal the sick and raise the dead.
Now shout this piece: I AM A FORGIVER! I AM NOT A CONDEMNER. I AM AN INSTRUMENT OF GOD’S GRACE. I AM A MINISTER OF GRACE!
Now, when you walk into a store, just say “Thank YOU LORD JESUS, for YOUR grace. I forgive everyone in this store. By faith, I release the power to heal on every person. If I may be of service to YOU and to someone here, I am YOURS to command.
When you are driving, say “I forgive everyone on this highway.” Teach your children to say this everyday as well – I forgive every student and every teacher in this school.
Everywhere you go, become a minister of GOD’s Grace. Be a part of the healing of the land. (Get your prayers answered)
